What is the hiring process?

Visit our website at https://hr.alima.ngo/en/jobs. Identify the position that’s right for you. Read more  about working, living, and the safety conditions in the field, and the recruitment criteria.

Prepare your application by sending us your detailed CV highlighting your experience and skills, together with a cover letter.

Your application will be examined by our recruitment and mobility department. Our application review process takes approximately three weeks. If you haven’t heard from us after that time, you should consider your application unsuccessful.

The recruitment team will contact you for a telephone interview.

If your application is shortlisted, you will take a test and/or be interviewed by a recruitment panel made up of an HR representative and a technical expert.

If you are selected for a specific position, you will receive a job offer.If your application is approved for a pool, a pool approval e-mail will be sent to you. A career advisor will contact you to discuss your first assignment at ALIMA.

You will travel to the field or to headquarters and receive introductory briefings.

Advantages of working in the field

We offer short and medium-term contracts with periods of time off, depending on the context. To offer you a competitive package, we will consider your experience and level of expertise.

ALIMA offers career opportunities in the field and at our headquarters. You can choose to spend a few months with ALIMA on a specific mission, which will enable you to discover a new context, meet committed colleagues and acquire new skills. You can then move on to other missions or continue at headquarters. It’s also possible to apply for managerial positions and participate in the development of our organization. ALIMA will support you in your career choices through regular reviews and professional development initiatives.

You’ll also be invited to share your practices and expertise through our in-house trainer program. 

Within the framework of a field contract, ALIMA will provide:

  • Daily per diem in accordance with the country office’s per diem policy and in proportion to the expatriate’s working time in the country of assignment. 
  • International health insurance for employees and their dependents.
  • Airline tickets for breaks every 3 months for contracts longer than 9 months.
  • Provision of shared accommodation.

Advantages of working at operational headquarters

 We offer an open-ended contract under Senegalese law, 6.5 weeks paid vacation per year, a system of time off based on time spent in the field, and an advantageous remote working policy. We will take your level of expertise and your experience into account to offer you a competitive package.

ALIMA will contribute to the school fees of your children aged 2 to 18 (nursery from 0 to 2 years). For internationally recruited staff, ALIMA will cover travel expenses to your usual place of residence for you (twice a year) and for each of your dependents (once a year), as well as up to 3,000 euros for relocation expenses in Dakar. You will benefit from an internationally recognized medical insurance.
